# Launch Your Career: Associate Production Engineer Role at PT. McDermott Indonesia

Stepping into the global energy sector requires joining a powerhouse capable of executing massive offshore engineering feats. PT. McDermott Indonesia (PTMI), a premier subsidiary of McDermott Incorporated, stands at the pinnacle of the offshore oil and gas construction industry. Operating out of Batam, this mega-facility serves as a critical engine driving McDermott's worldwide production capabilities. If you hold a degree in architecture and possess a drive for large-scale industrial execution, an exceptional career opportunity awaits you as an Associate Production Engineer (Building Architect).
## Role Overview: What to Expect as an Associate Production Engineer

In this capacity, you will apply established production methodologies to resolve standard engineering challenges. Rather than working in isolation, you will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, allowing you to bridge the gap between academic theory and complex, real-world fabrication. Your primary focus will center on leveraging your conceptual knowledge of production practices to support major oil and gas infrastructure projects.
## Core Responsibilities and Daily Duties

Success in this position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong cross-functional communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your day-to-day tasks will encompass a wide variety of project phases:

* Project Scope and Planning: Analyze project scopes, schedules, and technical specifications to fully grasp layout and design criteria.
* Work Package Preparation: Draft comprehensive work packages to streamline execution on the shop floor.
* Schedule Optimization: Evaluate fabrication timelines and provide constructive recommendations to the planning team.
* Layout and Progress Tracking: Keep a close eye on architectural layouts, monitoring design revisions and construction milestones.
* Quality and Compliance Assurance: Verify that all materials, fabrications, and installations strictly adhere to project drawings and company standards.
* Material Management: Audit material availability, assess weekly inventory reports, and initiate site queries for approved material substitutions when necessary.
* Field Support: Deliver hands-on guidance on the shop floor to guarantee operational compliance.
* Progress Reporting: Participate in production meetings to voice concerns, track scope modifications, and review weekly fabrication metrics alongside labor productivity.
* Constraint Identification: Analyze two-week look-ahead plans to proactively spot material shortages, drawing delays, or site discrepancies.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with detailing engineers to ensure timely drawing releases and communicate approved design changes across all teams.
## Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

Mc McDermott seeks ambitious, detail-oriented talent ready to contribute to world-class energy projects. Review the criteria below to ensure your profile aligns with their expectations:

Educational Background
* Hold a Bachelor's Degree (S1 or D4) specializing in Building Architect or Architectural Engineering.

* Open to Fresh Graduates or professionals with 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
Note:* Fresh graduates who boast hands-on internship experience or robust academic projects focused on architectural design or facility layouts are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Skills
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Proven capability to interpret, review, and extract requirements from complex engineering drawings.
* Foundational understanding of discipline components relevant to industrial fabrication and construction.

Preferred (Plus) Qualifications
