## Understanding the Field Operator Role
The Field Operator position is critical to maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of power plant operations. Working both independently on-site and in close coordination with central control teams, the successful candidate will ensure that daily generation activities proceed without interruption.
Core Responsibilities
* Plant Monitoring and Control: Oversee overall plant operations during standard daily routines as well as critical emergency situations, working closely with the Unit Controller to maintain seamless performance.
* On-Site Supervision: Provide active field supervision outside the control room during routine operational phases and active incident responses.
* Incident Response Support: Report immediately to the control room during unit trips or upon direct instruction from leadership, assisting with troubleshooting and status tracking.
* Startup Assistance: Support the Unit Controller and Assistant Unit Controller during planned plant start-ups, adapting to varying technical demands and urgency levels.
* Local Equipment Operation: Manage local machinery and systems under the remote direction of operators stationed in the Central Control Room.
* Reporting and Inspection: Complete routine physical inspections to verify that actual field conditions match digital system readouts, and compile accurate daily operational reports for management review.
